When I arrived at the hospital, I was in active labor. However, I arrived alone because my husband was out of town but was rushing to make it back in time for the delivery. Because of this situation I was feeling very nervous. But in meeting Theresa she helped to alleviate some of the worry and made me feel comforted in knowing that she was there to help. She took time to get to know me and what my wants/needs were, I never felt like a burden even though I was aware there were other patients that needed her care as well. She made sure I was comfortable, that I had a full glass of water, food, call light accessible, etc, and that I was given the opportunity to get the epidural ASAP, which was of high importance to me. She was very supportive and checked on me often when my family wasn't able to be there initially.

Throughout the rest of my overnight stay, there were several occasions where she was able to explain what was going on with me and my new baby's care, and that helped to make me feel safe. When the baby was first delivered, she wasn't making any noise, but Theresa talked us through everything, never leaving us out of the conversation to make us worry. In another moment that I was feeling pretty awful after receiving the epidural she stayed to make sure I started to feel better.

Theresa is a wonderful individual. She is a very caring, personable, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive person, which makes her such a great nurse. I genuinely felt sad leaving the hospital because of the exceptional care I received from Theresa. I hope our paths cross again in the future because it is the best care I have received.
