My 88-year-old father absolutely hates hospitals. He didn't have a choice and was admitted to the ICU after an ER visit when he collapsed in a parking lot. The entire staff here at Jersey Shore Med has been exceptional so all deserve the recognition, and they all work so well together - we have been super impressed. But our main nurse for the first day of his admission (Theresa Rue) has been incredible. She has been so professional and knowledgeable, and she has won my father over with her witty personality and the incredible attention she pays to him. She continually makes him feel good with complement after complement, and I said to my dad, "See, it's not so bad here," and his response was, "My nurse is amazing." It went from being "a nurse" to "his nurse" or when he is talking, "my nurse," and that is not my father - she won him over, and any procedure she needs from him, he is so agreeable - I haven't seen anything like it with him in the past. Theresa truly exhibits the professional and personal skills that have to win all patients over - it's amazing. Thank you, Theresa, for all you do, especially what you did with my father!
