With the service Theresa provided, it is with great pleasure that I recommend her for the DAISY Award.
I was experiencing recurring blood pressure issues. I was trying to get my medicine adjusted, plus I was having trouble with my blood pressure machine. Taking a chance that there would be someone there to help me, I stopped by the clinic. I was in luck; after a very short wait, Theresa came and took me to her office.
I explained to her my problems with elevated blood pressure. She immediately took my blood pressure and also pulled up my VA records on her computer screen. She noted that my blood pressure readings with the VA were good, so we then talked about my medicine. I told her that I had stopped taking my losartan because it makes me dizzy and feel faint.
Theresa suggested that I take my medicine at bedtime instead of in the morning. Theresa also checked my blood pressure machine, and we found that it was working fine. She also showed me that the machine would do something I did not know. Since the blood pressure machine was given by the VA 10 years ago, she ordered me a new one, so I now have a backup.
She also called my primary care provider and told her my situation, then over the next several weeks, my primary care provider will be calling me and checking on me. With the service Theresa provided, it is with great pleasure that I recommend her for the DAISY Award. She is extremely deserving of this award, and the VA is very lucky to have her.
