I wanted to send a big thank you to Therese Collerd today for taking care of this patient. She is 91 and here on a drawn-out admission for an infection. She was able to connect with her today and have a very personal discussion with her where she discovered she just wants us to let her go home and be with her husband. I think it's easy for us to forget sometimes the human aspect of taking care of people as it easy to focus on the medical aspect. She did a really great job and I consider it going above and beyond to have such thoughtful emotional conversations with her. Thanks to Therese she will be going home tomorrow with hospice to be with her husband, which is what she really wants. These are the things that I think help make beaches such an incredibly special place to work; I really don't encounter this anywhere else!
