March 2024 Honoree
Thomas Christmas, RN
Tommy was caring for a special needs patient who has limited range of motion in his neck. Along with being bedbound, this limitation makes it impossible for the patient to see the TV. Tommy rearranged the room, rotated the bed and problem solved to ensure the patient was able to look at the TV. Although the patient was unable to speak, Tommy identified this action as being a priority to ensure the patient's satisfaction. It was an act that took imagination and extra effort solely to benefit the patient's experience. The patient even smiled for the first time. The patient didn't stop smiling.
Thank you, Thomas, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
