1. Thomas is an exceptional nurse. Every time he was my nurse, he showed me immediate attention and care. He genuinely cared for my well-being and had a positive attitude while he was at work. Every time I asked him for something or for help, he worked as fast and efficiently as possible.

2. Thomas Costanzo was the first nurse post-surgery for a fractured hip and right from the onset he gave me reassurance that I was going to be ok. With his skilled care and encouragement, he put me on the path to recovery. He has a wonderful personality and quickly helped me to understand what I needed to do. Thomas is a great asset to this hospital and should be recognized for his hard work.

3. We had a young patient admitted with a fracture in the evening who needed Buck’s traction for stabilization overnight while pending OR repair. The orthopedic team was not available, and I had never applied Buck’s traction myself. The nurses where the patient was assigned were also unfamiliar with applying the traction. Thomas stayed for several hours after his shift in order to get all of the needed equipment and supplies, to apply the traction to the patient, and to educate me and the rest of the staff about where to find things and how to put them on. His bedside manner was phenomenal, and he really calmed this anxious young lady while he stabilized her fracture. He really went above and beyond by staying late and educating everyone so next time we know how to do this ourselves.
