Why this nurse is so special:

Words of kindness and respect when a patient is anxious and uncertain.

Continuous presence (as much as possible) to reassure the patient he is not alone.

Familiarizing patient’s chart plus remembering the information.

Keep track and inform the patient of the timetable (of procedure time, doctor’s arrival and reading patient’s charts, order of personnel showing up to meet patient).

Ease and painless way of putting in IV.

Kind offering to my companion of food and/or drinks.

Departing for home moments- caring and gentle presence.

Continued conversations and questions during preps, taking the patient’s nerves away.

And perhaps many more details that skip my memory right now.
