Thompson is exceptional. There was a challenging case with a patient who needed a safe disposition, in which the patient was very reluctant to be discharged. Thompson spent a lot of time with the patient, keeping them abreast of the plan of care, to the point he felt comfortable leaving the facility. This is what it means when we say “Extraordinary Nurses” – nurses who go above and beyond the call of duty and ensure continued trust is present from admission through discharge.
