As a charge nurse, Thu Thi shows tough love and motivates her staff to be their very best. She is always ready to jump into action to help and consistently makes people feel comfortable. When she cares for patients, Thu Thi goes above and beyond her responsibility as a nurse. She went out of her way to monitor and help a long-term patient with behavioral issues on the unit, always checking on him and often taking him outside for lunch. She even took charge of decorating his room for the holidays.
Recently, 5AC hosted a wedding for a terminally ill patient, and Thu Thi played with the couple's toddler and watched her during the ceremony. After the wedding, Thu Thi continued to help the family in any way she could, arranging for a cake to celebrate the toddler's birthday and ensuring the patient had everything she needed. Thu Thi is ultimately so humble that she would never take credit for her hard work or those extras that make 5AC better. She also may not realize the magnitude of the impact she makes on other people's lives. In her colleague's words: "Whether she is doing all that she can for a patient, or spoiling the staff with treats, she does these tasks with a selfless nature. She is a great rock to lean on and is always supportive of other staff. I personally look up to her and only hope to grow and become as knowledgeable and strong as she is."
