With her large personality but ever more so hands-on compassion and effective knowledge, Tiana exemplified what high-quality care consists of.
My wife and I were going through a stressful pregnancy, IUGR baby, worry of c-section, and heart decelerations. Upon change of shift comes this amazing energy of hope and care. From the moment she stepped into our room, she made our stay wonderful as we were in the arms of family. With her large personality but ever more so hands-on compassion and effective knowledge, Tiana exemplified what high-quality care consists of. After a deceleration during the change of shift she came in, worked on my wife, and settled her down. Throughout the entire night, similar issues occurred, but Tiana reassured us that we would be ok. After a change of shift, we were worried that we wouldn't have someone like her anymore, but luckily, she was coming back the next day. We requested her once more, and 16 hours later, she came back through the doors with the largest smile and positive energy one could hope for dealing with a stressful labor.
Unfortunately, we needed a c-section, but Tiana cared for my wife like she was her own family. She transferred over care for her into recovery and finally postpartum. I wish every nurse had the love and affection she exhumes. 2 days later, while we were in postpartum, I stood by the RN's desk to ask for help with changing my wife's bed linens. The current RN was on a break, and the manager sitting at the desk stated, "If you need help, just use your call light, please." I started to walk back to the room, and another nurse with a large booming voice said, it's ok, I'll help you out. I introduced myself, and she looks at me and says, it's me Tianna! I looked up, and indeed it was her again! I felt so embarrassed that I didn't notice; perhaps it was my lack of sleep or her not needing a mask, but I was so grateful for her help. She didn't need to help us as we were no longer her patient, but she went above and beyond to help us once more. She made our stay in Kaiser Vallejo 5/5 and will not hesitate to sing the praises of such a high-quality RN. Her future patients are lucky to have someone of that caliber.
