On every shift, Tierney puts patients first. She can calm a raging storm. This morning was no exception. The wound care nurse approached me and told me that she was both grateful and amazed by Tierney's ability to calm and persuade a patient in need to allow the wound care nurse to complete treatment. The patient has substance abuse problems, a raging infection, and an unpleasant response to needed interventions. He was angry and verbally abusive to the wound care nurse who then called Tierney. She told me Tierney was amazing she was able to soothe, calm, and create a safe situation for the patient to allow the needed treatment. This is Tierney!
