Tiffany is an exceptional OR nurse whose impact is felt every single day by both her patients and her team. In perioperative nursing, we rarely receive direct patient feedback because our patients are asleep during most of their care. But anyone who works alongside Tiffany knows the level of advocacy, vigilance, and professionalism she brings to every case.

Tiffany is extraordinarily thorough, almost painstakingly so at times, and we joke about it, but that attention to detail is exactly what makes her such an outstanding nurse. She consistently asks the hard questions that make the entire team stop and think critically. She does not simply accept “the way we’ve always done it.” Instead, she professionally challenges the status quo in ways that improve patient safety, communication, and accountability.

She takes initiative without being asked and has become someone the team naturally relies on to identify gaps, anticipate problems, and ensure that nothing is left to chance. Tiffany approaches every patient and every procedure with the mindset that details matter because patient safety depends on them.

Tiffany also invests heavily in the growth and development of others. She trains and mentors staff to meet the same high standards she holds for herself, helping elevate the entire team. She leads by example, creating an environment where critical thinking, preparation, and accountability are expected and encouraged.

What sets Tiffany apart is her ability to hold others accountable while still maintaining professionalism and respect. She speaks up when something does not seem right, even when it is uncomfortable, because she is unwavering in her commitment to doing what is best for the patient.

In the OR, where details matter and teamwork is critical, Tiffany elevates everyone around her. She exemplifies what nursing leadership looks like, regardless of title. Her patients may never fully know the level of care and protection she provides while they are under anesthesia, but her team sees it every day.
