Tiffany just sprang into action and was AMAZING to my brother.
My brother was admitted for observation for cardiac markers being elevated. He had not been feeling well for some time. "M" has various medical issues that he has been dealing with for a very long time. Yesterday, after spending time with my brother, he admitted to me his suicidal thoughts and how he mentally was in a very dark place and could no longer deal with his situation. He had also admitted to me that he had tried committing suicide. My brother is a very very private person and does not speak of his emotions ever. This was very hard to hear coming from my older brother; it was a very emotional moment for both of us. I asked him if it would be ok for me to speak with Tiffany, his nurse about it. I explained to her what was going on and she took the time to speak and really listen to my brother. She and I spoke in private for a moment, and she explained to me what would be happening. Tiffany just sprang into action and was AMAZING to my brother, just her listening and taking the time whenever she came into his room. Tiffany put forth an action plan. There was something about how she reacted that put my brother at ease. Don't get me wrong, she had been a great nurse the whole time. But now the amount of compassion, empathy, and listening was just at another level. She has been communicating with me throughout the last couple of days and continues to do so. I have had many many visits to the hospital with my brother due to his medical history, and I feel we were just blessed for her to be our nurse at the right time. I wish all nurses were just like her. THANK YOU, TIFFANY, for being incredible during this very difficult process.
