January 2023 Honoree
Tiffany Defevers, RN
I found out that I had a miscarriage was the worst day of my life. On the next day, I was scheduled for a D&C. I was so scared and sad. I went to the same high school as Tiffany, and I knew her as a friend but now I consider her a very dear friend whom I will always be grateful. When they called my name to go back to surgery, I was shaking and scared. As soon as the door was open, Tiffany was waiting with open arms. She hugged me while I cried. Tiffany had been through a similar experience. She understood how I felt. She treated me with such kindness. She took her time and listened to everything I had to say. She sat on my bedside and let me cry and pour my heart out. That meant so much to me. I was only there a short time, but I never wanted for anything. She was on top of it. After the surgery was over and I was recovering at home, Tiffany called and texted to check on me. She truly cared about how I was physically and mentally. I hadn't checked my mail in days, but I was touched when I opened a package from Tiffany that was a bracelet with the most beautiful saying. No one outside my family has ever been this kind to me. I will never forget her kindness during some of my darkest days. She helped me come out of the darkness.
Thank you, Tiffany, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
