On Christmas Eve we were pulled to NSICU (covid unit). Tiffany had a patient who really wanted to go home to say goodbye to her family. The patient was fully awake and capable of making decisions. Tiffany made the patient's team aware of her wishes. The medical team listened to the patient's expressed wishes, which were to have comfort-directed care and say goodbye. If it weren't for Tiffany's compassion and empathy this patient may not have been fully heard and understood. Although the patient was not able to go home, she was able to speak with her daughter and she was able to express her wishes. She was in turn able to get her Christmas wish.
