She is technically very competent. She is also a good communicator clear and articulate. She takes an interest in her patients and makes them feel like she cares.
In November, my cousin R suffered cardiac arrest and spent several days in ICU and then IMU. After a second round of heart attacks he was back in ICU for a few more days, and he died shortly after. I met many good nurses and very good doctors during the many hours I spent in his room.  All the nurses who cared for R were good, mostly very good! R never received poor nursing and was always in good hands with the best care possible. My recommendation of Tiffany for the DAISY Award is for reasons besides good nursing care. She is knowledgeable and explains what is going on and why she is doing things. She is technically very competent. She is also a good communicator clear and articulate. She takes an interest in her patients and makes them feel like she cares. She knows how to tell a patient what is best for them without offending them. She does not act like she is finished with the patient when her shift is over. I called her when she was off work and she answered my questions and was very helpful. When R was not her patient, she stopped by to see how he was doing. I believe Tiffany had the magic of a caring nurse that gave R the motivation to get better, R was Tiffany’s “miracle” patient and those hours of care early on maybe were the most important contribution to his survival and recovery. I am sorry that we lost R in the end. But I am glad that I met Tiffany and I would certainly want her to be my nurse. I do thank all the staff at HCA for all they did to save my cousin.
