She checked on the patient often and would always speak to her with great compassion all the while making sure that she was warm enough and would hold her hand.
We recently had an elderly woman come in who was in active stages of dying and was alone. Tiffany approached me to let me know the family was traveling and would be here in 2 hours. I visited the patient's room and sat with her holding her hand to lessen her fear. While sitting there I witnessed Tiffany show great compassion while taking care of her. She told the patient many times to help calm her fear the following things: you are safe, you are loved, you are beautiful, you are strong. She then asked the patient if she liked music, the patient told us Johnny Cash, so we played Johnny Cash hymns for her. She checked on the patient often and would always speak to her with great compassion all the while making sure that she was warm enough and would hold her hand. At one point the Tiffany came in and there were not anymore Johnny Cash hymns so she asked if she could sing to her. She sang How Great Thou Art, Amazing Grace, and many others. Not only was this unbelievably gracious and kind to do, but it was a gift listening to her sing. Tiffany truly has a wonderful gift from God that is sweet and soothing. I watched the patient close her eyes to rest and could feel her relax her hand as she was singing. Once she was done singing the patient opened her eyes and told her how beautiful the songs were and thanked her. It was a beautiful moment and I feel privileged to have witnessed it.
