I was in the CVICU waiting room listening to concerns a patient's family had regarding the care of their loved one. Tiffany, RN, came into the waiting room to inform the family that their loved one had just been taken down for a procedure and gave them an estimated time frame of when he would be back. Tiffany listened to all of the family's questions and concerns. She began to answer each question with explanations of why and how things were happening. The family apologized that they had so many questions. Tiffany took time and sat down on the floor and showed this family how important their concerns and questions were to her. She communicated and explained things to the family in a way that they could understand. She truly exhibited our core values at Memorial. The family left with understanding and the feeling that their loved one was a top priority. This didn't look like just a job to Tiffany. It looked like her passion and her calling. We absolutely need more nurses like her.
