Nursing and Respiratory Therapy collaborate daily to care for the special patients on
PCU. The staff on PCU is a unique breed of individuals in that they are essentially ICU
nurses, without the ICU bells and whistles to back them up! The patients are high acuity,
the needs are big and their skills match.

Tiffany Ligon epitomizes everything you want and need in a nurse partner when you
walk onto that floor. On PCU, she handles the stressful situations with calmness and skill,
which helps everyone around her to react in the same manner. As an RN Code
Responder, she is who I would want at my bedside! Even during mock Code Blue drills;
Tiffany is calm, clear, concise, and strong…the skills you want to be evident if your
family member was the one lying on that stretcher.

Tiffany values partnerships, recognizing that collaboratively caring for our patient’s best
serves their needs.
