I would like to nominate Tiffany for the DAISY Award for the extraordinary compassion and presence she demonstrated during one of the most difficult moments a patient and family can face - comfort care at the end of life. At the start of a night shift, I walked past the room of a patient whose care was being withdrawn. He was on an Impella; the family had been with him all day. As I passed by to say hello, I was struck by the room's serenity. It was peaceful, quiet, and clean, and there stood Tiffany- not rushing, not distracted - just gently whispering a greeting, her hand wrapped around the patient. I didn't know the patient's full story, but in that moment I knew Tiffany was giving him something sacred: presence. Even as I stepped away from the doorway, she remained right there, never letting go of his hand.

What stayed with me the most was that even after his heart went into ventricular fibrillation, she stayed. She didn't flinch. She didn't walk away. She honored his final moments with dignity, grace, and unwavering compassion. Her presence became the care. Her hand became the comfort. In a world that moves fast and in a profession that is in high demand, Tiffany reminded me of the quiet power of simply being there. She gave the kind of care that can't be taught - she gave her heart so that the patient didn't transition alone.

Thank you, Tiffany, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
