A sick 12-year-old brought me to the Pediatric ER. My son was recently diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and this was hard news for us to deal with. He took ill and we went to the Pediatric ER where he was admitted as his nutrients were lacking. Tiffany was the nurse that assisted my family and Tiffany was heaven sent. She stepped in, not only in caring for my son, but in calming my worst fears. Tiffany possesses excellent assessment skills, great decision making capabilities and she's a great educator to patients and their families. Tiffany was also my son's nurse while he was inpatient on the Pediatric floor. Tiffany was consistent in the use of nursing processes during our stay, while providing great care to my son. Tiffany showed empathy in our situation and she collaborated well with all physicians toward the care of my son. Tiffany exemplifies the kind of nurse that patients and families, as well as physician and nurses, should recognize as an outstanding role model. Tiffany Rose is a deserving recipient of the DAISY Award.
