Tim Dunnington's exemplary critical care skills have been put to good use in the PCU, when he recognized patients' sudden deterioration. He has been credited by family members for saving their loved-ones lives by recognizing these signs and resuscitating the patient, transferring the patient to the ICU for closely monitored one-to-one care or to the operating room for emergency surgery.

Co-workers in ICU and PCU stated they value Tim for his love of teaching his wide array of skills, his positive attitude and his ability to quietly inspire other nurses to be the best they can be. Colleagues stated they have never heard him utter a negative word, his "positivity is infectious," and that he "plays the most impressive team ball in the nursing business." He earned the nickname "super nurse" because he is truly a role model to the night shift staff -- whether it be explaining abnormal cardiac rhythms, calming detoxing patients or answering every call light on the floor with a smile and contagious laugh.
