I have always had great experiences with the nursing staff, however, Tim is in a class by himself.
I would be extremely remiss if I did not bring to your attention, the unbelievable, above and beyond personality, and characteristics of one nurse in the ED - Tim Smith. I have always had great experiences with the nursing staff, however, Tim is in a class by himself. I was literally blessed that he was my nurse for the 27 hours I spent in the ED. My wife and I were beyond words in trying to explain his soft-spoken demeanor, compassion, gentle care, treating me like I was his own parent, speaking to me in a way I could understand, checking in on me constantly throughout my stay and so empathetic toward what I was going through and making sure I had everything I needed, wanted and/or required.
And the ultimate proof of how much he goes above and beyond for those in his care was when he had a floor bed brought to me so I did not have to remain on the ED bed for the 27 hours I was in the ED. I had not complained (though those ED beds are not fit for anyone - especially the elderly like myself), nor was I even aware that I could get the "better" bed. It was his knowledge, experience, huge heart, and dedication to his patients that prompted him to go out of his way for "my care and comfort" as he explained to me how my thin elderly skin is prone to bedsores, bruising, and overall, back and leg pain if I remained in the ED bed for an extended amount of hours.
When it came to pass that I was actually in the ED room for 27 hours, I spent the night thanking God for sending Tim to me as I would never have lasted that long on an ED bed. An organization is only as good as those who represent it, and you have the ultimate representation in Nurse Tim in the E.D. He is an invaluable asset.
