This nurse always steps up and takes on multiple roles/tasks to help her colleagues and department. She demonstrated this amazing attribute recently. She was precepting a new grad which was her primary role. She also helped other nurses with their patients. She answered the radio multiple times. The department was very overwhelmed on this particular day and while multitasking all these roles she stopped in the middle of the chaos and took the time to assist a patient to the bathroom and had an incredible bedside manner. I was impressed with her ability to give such quality and empathetic care to another nurse's patient despite the demanding roles that she assumed that day. She has deeply inspired me. It may seem like a small and basic task, but in the ED there are always competing priorities that need immediate attention. I appreciated that she put the patient first.
