My mom was a direct admit from Barstow. We struggled with the care prior to arriving at SBMC and felt abandoned and forgotten. But when we arrived to SBMC, it was like a cup of cold water on a dry and thirsty day. Immediately, we noticed a difference in the care. We wanted to give a shout-out to our Nurse Timothy "Tim" for not only being exceptional but also for being extraordinary. An ordinary Nurse smiles. But Tim puts the extra in the word with a positive tone and conversation that showed he really cares. An ordinary Nurse provides privacy and modesty. Tim puts the extra in the word by his commitment to his care for my mom. An ordinary nurse makes sure needs are met. Tim puts the extra in the word by actually crossing over and assisting EVS and the CNAs, and also by making sure needs were met. An ordinary Nurse calls for someone to "fix it" but Tim put the extra in the word by fixing it himself (in the same amount of time it would take to request for it). An ordinary Nurse follows doctor's orders, but Tim put the extra in the word by noticing issues, calling the doctors, and following up on the requests. If Tim said he would do it, he would do it. Over and over, Tim has displayed extraordinary qualities in his nursing. Tim is thorough, proactive, caring, professional, clean & careful. He followed protocols and advocated for us constantly. Hats off to the entire Nursing team. We are so grateful!
