Tim listened to me and was genuinely concerned. He fought hard to get me a side room so I could have my light on and door open.
I am a paranoid schizophrenic who is afraid of the dark and being in-closed in spaces. Needless to say, the bay areas at night were too scary for me because the lights are off and the big sliding door closed me in. I had an attack and couldn't go into the bay where my bed was. Tim listened to me and was genuinely concerned. He fought hard to get me a side room so I could have my light on and door open. He also worked hard to get me the mental health help that I needed during my stay and comforted me. I could tell the other staff thought I was just having a tantrum and were not impressed by my behaviour. I honestly can't help how I get when I am scared and having an attack. But Tim understood and showed me sympathy and compassion in an otherwise un-understanding and slightly hostile environment. Without him, I would not have been able to stay at the hospital and conclude my treatment. So I nominate Tim for being my hero and keeping me safe.
