I am honored to nominate Timur for the DAISY Award after witnessing his exceptional care and dedication while managing a complex case in our unit. Over two weeks, I observed Timur caring for a critically ill patient who required meticulous attention due to multiple continuous drips, CRRT, and intubation. He not only managed the patient’s critical condition but also provided compassionate support to the family, consistently educating them and answering their questions with patience and empathy.

Throughout several shifts, Timur displayed remarkable clinical expertise by advocating for optimal medication adjustments and collaborating with the medical team to fine-tune treatments. One night in particular stands out: after hours of carefully adjusting the patient’s drips to maintain stable hemodynamics, he ensured the patient’s comfort by performing personal care that exceeded expectations. He brushed the patient’s teeth, shaved his beard as per the wife’s request, washed his hair, and repositioned him for optimal comfort—all while continuing to manage ongoing medical orders.

Even after these intensive tasks, Timur emerged from the room and immediately offered help to his colleagues, demonstrating a true team-player attitude. His dedication extended beyond clinical care, as he was often seen engaging with family members, offering a shoulder to lean on, and creating a calming presence amidst a stressful situation. This level of care and compassion is not an isolated incident but a true reflection of Timur’s commitment to nursing excellence. His ability to bring comfort to patients and their families during the most challenging times while maintaining a high standard of clinical practice exemplifies what the DAISY Award stands for. He is a role model to all of us and truly deserving of this recognition.
