I would like to recognize Tina Davis, LPN in the Outpatient Wound Clinic. She consistently demonstrates a work ethic and dedication to her Veterans and clinic operations that is superior. She focuses on meeting the Veterans' needs, maximizing their clinic time, and minimizing any potential unforeseen Emergency Department visits.

I recently discovered that whenever she is notified of a Veteran’s passing, she sends sympathy cards to the family. In this case, the Veteran’s immediate family responded by sending a card back to her. The messages that were written by the family were so heartfelt and sweet. I was moved by their words to Tina. I could tell that they knew her personally and loved her. They all thanked her for calling them to follow up on him during his treatments because Tina had noticed a decline in his cognition. They made mention of how he looked forward to seeing her in the wound clinic for treatment – specifically the “care and jolliness that was shared”. Tina’s ability to connect with her patients makes them feel like family. As a nurse, treating our patients like they are our family is the highest respect.

Outside of her clinic operations and holistic nursing approach she is a CHAMPION. I have called on her many times for her help, guidance, and expertise with wounds, equipment, and supplies. NEVER ONCE has she turned me down or punted the issue to someone else. She graciously takes the time to help me locate equipment, triage my patients, or simply navigate the system. I have had the privilege of shadowing her in the wound clinic and was so impressed by her bedside manner, genuine concern, and diligent effort to meet the needs of her patients.
