Miss Tina takes care of my son every Friday during his infusions. We have been coming in to see her once a week since July, 2010, Tina is our guardian angel; she goes out of her way to give my son excellent care. When she isn't busy with other patients she reads him stories or colors with him, and sometimes she plays basketball with him in his room.

Miss Tina has become part of our family. She stayed calm during one of the scariest days we lived through with my son during one of his weekly infusions. In March of 2012 my son's heart went into SVT as his infusion began. She immediately went into action and called the doctor, ordered a stat EKG and then got the meds needed to correct his heart. Miss Tina gave me a hug and prayed with me before giving him the meds - those few seconds waiting for his heart to recover were the longest ever! Once his heart restarted correctly, we all breathed a sigh of relief. My son has continued to take meds for the SVT but has not had any further issues since that day.

Miss Tina has also helped us make appointments with my son's doctors for MRI's, Ultrasounds, etc. She deserves this award because she does more than take care of patients, she takes care of families also.

We love Nurse Tina! We have been coming to see her twice a month for the last three years. Each and EVERY time we come in Nurse Tina dotes on my son. She always laughs at his silly jokes and his puns as if she has never heard anything as funny as him! This happens during every single visit!

I believe kids are an excellent judge of authentic behavior and Nurse Tina is as authentic as they come. Every child deserves someone in their life that thinks he is the funniest, brightest, most awesome kid ever and Nurse Tina is that person for our son!
