Tina Fox deserves the DAISY Award for so many accomplishments, to include singlehandedly holding the Tacoma Dermatology Department together after every other full-time nurse left. Patient care provided by the two dermatologists and staff was unaffected, in fact, patient satisfaction for the dermatology department significantly exceeded Press Ganey National and Group Health averages for all of that year.
A young woman with multiple autoimmune diseases came in to the department with a skin rash, the patient's condition was significantly disfiguring and she could not afford to pay the co-pay of the medications. Tina went above and beyond normal compassionate care to research ways to pay for the medications. Because of her tenacity and passion, she was successful in getting this young woman her medication with no cost to the patient.
Tina's work on behalf of patients has resulted in the department's high patient satisfaction.
