I want to recommend Tina for her help with a pediatric wound V.A.C. dressing change. On our unit we rarely see wound V.A.C.s and especially not on 2 year olds, but that was the case. We were concerned about the dressing change and pain control during the procedure. Tina volunteered to help with the dressing change even though she doesn't work with pediatrics. She gave tips for pain control prior to the dressing change. Tina took her time taking off the dressing and was very patient and caring to this young patient and her mother. Even though the dressing change was long and took a lot of her time, she stayed until the dressing was changed and the V.A.C. was up and working. I really appreciated her help.
