I am the Director of Nursing for a home health care agency in Frederick County. We have a very acutely ill 24/7 case that was recently (2 months ago) enrolled in hospice. Tina is her Hospice RN. Tina goes OUT OF HER WAY to ensure that this patient is safe at all times. She visits her three times a week, even when not clinically indicated, holds family/physician conferences, and keeps my team in the loop about everything. The power of attorney lives an hour away from this patient. She trusts Tina and knows that any and all concerns will be addressed in a timely fashion. It is evident through the way that Tina jokes with the client, is gentle yet firm with her, and encourages her (as well as my team members) that she truly cares about the physical, medical, emotional, and spiritual needs of this patient. I am confident that I would not be able to manage the care and clinical decline of this patient if it were not for her care and support.
