February 2026 Honoree
Tina Parsons, BSN
During a very scary complication in my delivery, when my baby experienced severe shoulder dystocia, this nurse made an unforgettable difference in my care. In a room full of people, she was the only one who took the time to talk directly to my husband and me and explain what was happening. I was crying, terrified, and overwhelmed, and she calmly helped us understand the state of our baby when we were desperate for reassurance and information. After delivery, her compassion continued. She stayed with me to help me clean myself up, supported me as I walked to the bathroom, and gave me valuable postpartum tips when I was exhausted and vulnerable. She went back and forth between my baby and me so she could keep me updated on my baby’s condition, making sure I never felt forgotten or left in the dark. In one of the most frightening moments of my life, she was a steady, compassionate presence who truly advocated for my family and me. I will never forget the care, communication, and kindness she showed us when it mattered most.
Thank you, Tina, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
