I am honored to nominate Tina for her extraordinary compassion and care during my son J's recent hospitalization on B4. J was admitted for six days due to a serious liver condition and injuries from an ATV accident. While every staff member was kind and helpful, Tina went far beyond what anyone could have expected. Tina not only cared for J with skill and empathy, but she also cared for me as a parent navigating an incredibly difficult time. Her compassion was pure and honest. She treated us not just as patients, but as people she truly cared about.

When J was ready for discharge, we faced a crisis; he had nowhere to go and no way to get there. Tina called me multiple times to help make a plan. I found a nearby motel and booked two nights, but J was in no condition to get there on his own. Tina arranged and paid for an Uber to transport him safely. She refused to be reimbursed. Even after J left the hospital, Tina called me to share her concerns about his recovery. She spoke with me about his struggle with alcoholism and encouraged me to seek support for myself as well. Her care didn't end when her shift did. It extended far beyond the walls of the hospital.

When I asked J what made Tina special, he simply said, "She cared." Those two words may not seem like much to some, but to me, they meant the world. Tina made a profound impact on our lives, and I hope she knows just how deeply appreciated she is. She exemplifies the heart of healthcare.
