Tina Roark, RN
Our newborn was taken from us just 12 hours after birth for monitoring. When we went to visit him the night he was admitted, and Tina Roark was his nurse, and she made a very scary situation calm by how she took care of our son. He had been intubated that day and that was the worst sight for me to see. She never left his side and talked to him the whole time. She made sure that he had everything he needed, that he was comfortable and that he was taken care of completely. I cannot express in words how it felt to see my son so well taken care of when I could not provide the care he needed. I left him that night with the peace of knowing Tina had him and she would take the very best care of him. Knowing this allowed me to get some very much needed rest after 36 hours of labor and a caesarean section. She kept us updated throughout the night and that was so important for us. I am so thankful for all the care he received in the NICU, but Tina’s love and care stood out. It was not the beginning for our son that we had expected or ever wanted but Tina’s care for him made the situation manageable for us. Tina will never know just how much she meant to us. Thank you, Tina!
