An alarm went off in the RO room in the Hemodialysis Suite between 1 am-2 am early this morning. With no dialysis nurse in house and the engineering department not knowing how to help, the Administrative Nursing Supervisor (ANS) called Tina who he knew would respond to see if she could help and she did. She helped the ANS walk through what we can do to turn the alarm off, thinking it may be a low level of bicarbonate solution, but it was not.
Since we could not figure out what was going on, Tina came in although not on call to help us. She found out that it was the completely drained off acide container that had caused the alarm. She communicated with their Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) to find a solution and even texted the oncoming nurse to make sure they knew. She went above and beyond by not just answering the phone but by physically coming to the hospital in the wee hours of the morning to help us. She exemplifies passion and dedication to her job. University is blessed to have her.
