Tina Wheeldon went above and beyond on a weekend recently. I received a call from the ED registration regarding a patient starting prep for a procedure in the OR on Monday that had questions about what medicines she could/could not take. Not being comfortable in this area, I reached out to Tina for guidance. Tina quickly offered, "I'm in town and will be there in a few minutes to talk to the patient".
Not only did Tina come in to take care of the patient's needs, but she also brought us a copy of the instructions that they give to patients pre-op so we have the reference. I appreciate that she is always willing to help without hesitation and that she is was not only able to help the patient, but also to help me to learn something new.

My nurse Tina was so awesome. She made me laugh, along with my surgeon and anesthesiologist, and made me forget about the unbearable reason why I was there.

Tina always shows compassion and concern to everyone, every day. She volunteers for hospital and for the community. She goes above and beyond every day. She embodies all that nursing should be. Tina is a member of her professional organization, she is engaged with our shared leadership councils, and she is the champion of our Red Cross Nurse volunteer program.
