We will forever be grateful to Tiwonge that she called when she did.
Tiwonge cared for my grandad who sadly passed away. Tiwonge called my family early morning advising my grandad was not well and if we wanted to visit we should do so imminently, which we did. My dad is an only child and what Tiwonge may not be aware of, is unfortunately the family had been affected and just recovered from COVID-19, and had she not called when she did, my dad would never have had the chance to talk to my grandad in person during his time in hospital. Grandad told us how amazing Tiwonge and her colleague had been during the night, attending to his needs and ensuring he was comfortable. He said they had not stopped all night and he could not fault their care. He was a funny character and Tiwonge may remember him as he kindly referred to her and her colleague as ‘the big girls’, as they could reposition him with ease. After only a short period of time, my grandad deteriorated and never recovered. We will forever be grateful to Tiwonge that she called when she did. In my dad’s words, "I owe her everything and I will never be able to put into words how much it meant that we got the call when we did." You have made the biggest difference and helped us to grieve knowing we had the chance to say goodbye. It was a great comfort to know you were the one caring for him after he passed. Thank you!
