First, I would like to give a shout-out about the entire experience we had with my husband's recent bypass surgery. Our son, C, said it well in this Instagram post. @vabenefits@greaterlosangelesva provided us with an exceptional level of care! We were given a case manager, prompt scheduling, FREE housing for our family, and an ELITE cardiac team and care staff. We are a military family, and we could not be more proud and grateful to see the VA giving back to those who served! This is tax dollars working towards the best interest of the Veteran community, and our family has an attitude of gratitude. That "ELITE" cardiac team of Dr. B and Dr. A was amazing, as were the care staff. But one particular nurse, Tola Keo-Muller, stood out among all the rest. She was caring and attentive to my husband, and she anticipated his needs before we even asked for anything. She was very knowledgeable and explained everything to us. Several other nurses asked for her help. Actually, another nurse asked me if I wanted to nominate her for the award because she was always so helpful. I said, "Absolutely". If I could nominate more than one, I would include May Luciano. She made my husband laugh right away, and it put him at ease immediately. She kept checking up on him every day. All of the doctors, nurses, and staff were incredible, and The Fisher House was unbelievably nice. The whole experience exceeded my wildest expectations. Thank you to everyone who helped my husband on this journey.
