My husband had bypass surgery in February. While all the caregivers were great, Tom was outstanding! His patience was so appreciated, especially with all of our questions. His explanations were easy to understand and made sense. When J's oxygen levels were reading lower, but it was obvious that he did not have shortness of breath, Tom realized the low readings could be the result of his Reynaud's syndrome. In all this, both J and I had forgotten about that. Tom also alleviated some of our worries about what to do/expect after leaving the hospital. Such as how to get out of the car, getting out of bed, etc. He assured us that PT would also instruct us in these areas. Overall, Tom was fantastic. His demeanor was always pleasant. He always said, "I'm just doing my job." No, he went above and beyond his job description! We were fortunate to have him and so is Grandview Hospital.
