I had the pleasure of being cared for by one of your amazing PACU nurses Tomeka Ward. Waking up from surgery can be a difficult and unpleasant experience. As a healthcare practitioner the PACU can be a thankless job, as the majority of your patients only remember the pain or nausea they experience and forget the very one that eases both of those discomforts. After a six-hour extensive cosmetic procedure I found myself under the care of a nurse's nurse. Tomeka did not know I was a nurse, but even in my groggy medicated state I knew I had an exceptional nurse. Every need was met quickly and with great results. I left the PACU with no pain or nausea. That is unheard of in my book. I asked her several times to please write her name down because I knew I would forget with all the medications and anesthesia I had received. Not only did she write her name down but that of my OR circulators and CRNA. I remember her saying you have a great team!
