Toni Roby, RN
Toni Roby helped to take care of my 20-year-old daughter, who was very nervous and scared when she had her EGD.
Toni did a great job. My daughter still talks about her weeks later. She said, "Mom, she held my hand and told me she was going to stay right there until I went to sleep." This comforted my daughter and made her feel as at ease as she could be.
Toni, I don't know if you are a mom or not, but as a mom who is a nurse myself, this meant the world to me that someone was offering that comfort to my daughter when I could not be in the EGD suite with her. Knowing that she felt at ease with you there and that you took the time to be extra caring toward her is priceless to me and selfless of you.
I think you should be honored, and the best way I could think of to honor you is to nominate you for this award. My daughter told me all about you when she first woke up and as I was helping to get her dressed. She continued to speak of you on her way out to the car, when I got home from work that night, and several times since that day.
I told her we would nominate you for this award, and she thought that was a great idea. Please know how special you are and that your kindness did not go unnoticed. We know this is probably everyday practice for you, but it meant a lot to us.
