...My daughter was readmitted to Memorial after an awful post operative period at home following a recent surgery. She was extremely discouraged and emotional about all the setbacks she had been experiencing. Her surgeon had her readmitted to have some IV antibiotics and consult with an infectious disease doctor.

Toni was on the ball practically as soon as we got to the room. She managed to quiz my distraught daughter, read the surgeons orders, and order the appropriate tests in short order. The consulting doctor had additional orders for tests and x-rays and the hospitalist was consulted as well about a low sodium level. Toni didn’t bat an eye as more orders came in. She was extremely efficient as well as very informative regarding any questions we had about tests or medications.

She was a patient advocate for us – clarifying orders and test results with the surgeon. Her calm and cheerful attitude quickly put all of us at ease and made us glad we had been sent back to the hospital. We had other nurses during the four days my daughter was at the hospital, but Toni stood out head and shoulders above the others. I think Toni should be commended for her professionalism as well as her caring and compassionate attitude.
