This woman is a powerhouse of knowledge, and I feel incredibly lucky to be alive at the same time as her and benefit from her beautiful brain.
Dr. Moore-Davis, better known to her students as TMD, teaches our core midwifery courses. She is a dedicated teacher who has an ever-expanding web of knowledge. I have found her to be equal parts an amazing teacher as well as a source of inspiration.
TMD is a crucial part of our midwifery education; she essentially organizes all core classes and teaches us the bulk of the content we need to be successful in our careers. Any success I achieve during my clinical day is in part due to her expertise, her patience, and her grace for her students. This woman is a powerhouse of knowledge, and I feel incredibly lucky to be alive at the same time as her and benefit from her beautiful brain. I am constantly in awe of how much effort she puts into her lectures. NOT every professor can do what she does. The dedication to her craft, and to improving her students', is truly admirable and inspiring. Professor Moore-Davis is a true gem, and Vanderbilt struck gold when they hired her as an instructor. I am lucky to study under someone who cares so much. It cannot be overstated how important this is when teaching.
She is a great presenter and great at explaining difficult concepts. She makes herself available for students to learn content that they struggle with. Having her along my academic/didactic journey at Vanderbilt has been very comforting. I know I will be a better, well-rounded, evidence-based midwife because of her care and teaching.
