My mother was transferred to the Cardiac Unit Thursday evening from the ER. The staff there is phenomenal but Nurse Tony heard me and made sure our wishes were carried out. Thanks to his intervention with the Doctors (who put all his suggestions in place), my mom passed Monday night and had an easy peaceful death. After her passing, he showed so much care and compassion for me in my grief. I will forever be grateful for that. If anyone thinks the doctors run the show in the hospital, I will argue that the Nurses are more connected.
