I felt relieved that my son would be in Tony’s hands when I couldn’t be there with him. Throughout my son’s stay, Tony was outstanding.
I wanted to take a moment to write to you about my experience at UPMC Mercy. My son suffered a critical injury, and the Brain Unit was his third hospital unit stop. The day my son was transferred from UPMC Presby to UPMC Mercy, I fell and broke my wrist and nose. I was so worried about my son going to a new place without me being there. Early the next morning, I went to UPMC Mercy and met Tony. His professionalism, easy manner, and the time he spent with me were amazing. I felt relieved that my son would be in Tony’s hands when I couldn’t be there with him. Throughout my son’s stay, Tony was outstanding. He always made sure my son was set up for his meals and had everything he needed. Tony treated my son with respect always when he didn’t understand, Tony found a way to explain so he could understand. Tony’s positive attitude, a true joy for his job, and care of his patients are truly exceptional. Nurses are vital and we are so grateful for Tony. He is a superstar!!
