February 2024 Honoree
Tony Henderson, RN
After my husband had a massive heart attack before Christmas, we spent 2 weeks in the ICU before he passed. I am so appreciative of all the staff in the ICU especially Tony. Tony is a very skilled nurse, and I could tell he puts his efforts into helping his patients. Tony explained to me what he was doing and why it could help my husband and was always willing to answer my questions. Tony made me feel confident that my husband was getting the best care he could and that everything that could be done was being done. Over the 2 weeks, Tony cared for my husband many times and always provided great care. During the stay and after, many of my family members who had come to the hospital to visit my husband also commented on how good of a nurse Tony was. I never thought at 56, my husband would pass away; however, I do know the staff in the ICU did everything they could to help him while also helping me accept the reality of the situation. I will always be grateful for my last two weeks with my husband and the staff at Mercy ICU. Thank you, Tony, for your expert nursing and the care you gave to him.
Thank you, Tony, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
