Tonya Barton, LPN goes above and beyond in all areas of nursing. She comes in on her days off to help out whenever asked. She works any shift. She helps with wound care and infection control. She goes out of her way to answer any questions patients and their families have. She helps them understand their insurance and always does so with patience and compassion. She helped a mother in a time of great difficulty set up funeral arrangements and a proper Indian death ritual. She sat patiently with the mother and listened to all of her concerns and wishes. She called security and made arrangements for the incense-burning ritual. She is the epitome of a DAISY Nurse.

Tonya goes above and beyond her job title. As a Clinical Liaison, she still continues to pick up shifts on the floor, fill in when Quality needs help, etc. She is amazing. Recently she helped a patient’s family tremendously. Their daughter was pronounced brain-dead in our facility. Tonya set up arrangements for the patient’s burial and to respect their cultural wishes, helped arrange for their chief to complete a spiritual ritual outside under her hospital room She is the epitome of what an AMG nurse should be. She rocks!
