Tonya Fletcher, RN

Tonya Fletcher was my preceptor during my first month at Pella Regional. She inspired me to be inquisitive, supported my professional growth, and made me feel welcomed. Tonya is incredibly knowledgeable, dedicated to her patients, and enthusiastic about sharing her experiences. Her friendly and respectable approach to leading others is much appreciated by peers like myself and truly brings the team together. Notably, when faced with an unexpectedly intubated patient, she quickly jumped into action. She worked hard to document and learn about the maintenance of multiple, uncommon lines/procedures/processes to ensure the best patient outcome. She then returned the next day to wean the patient off the ventilator, and the patient improved significantly. These actions inspire me to emulate her values as a person and skills as a nurse. First impressions of a workplace for a new employee are important in setting the culture and values of that workplace. Tonya made a positive impact and set the tone for an exciting career at Pella Regional!
