When I first started going to the GI clinic, I had a severe exacerbated health condition that left me unable to function normally and be free of pain. I was depressed and had no hope left for my life. I was so sick that I thought I would never get better or be able to live a normal life, so I stopped wanting to receive treatment and not take my pills. I felt like no one understood me. I was so scared. Tonya was a blessing. I would not be here today without her. She was endlessly kind to me, but she helped me be accountable for my actions and motivated me to keep trying and not give up. She gave me hope when I had no hope left. She has gone above and beyond for me, always being so kind, empathetic, and helpful. She saw me cry at my worst and comforted me. She made me feel like a person instead of a sick patient. Beyond being very good at her job, her kindness and empathy made a terribly bleak situation more livable. Now, I am in remission and am so grateful for her help every day because I would not be here without her. I am now in nursing school to become a nurse like her. I am so appreciative that she helped me keep going and get where I am today.
